High pressure will continue to dominate our weather with clear skies for the next couple of days. This weekend, a significant low pressure system just off the Eastern Seaboard will meander up the coast. While heavy rain is unlikely in our area, whether we see any rain at all is still a major uncertainty. At a minimum, this system should bring us clouds and some breezy north winds over the weekend. Temperatures will remain steady with highs in the 60s. Nighttime temperatures over the weekend will be warmer thanks to the cloud cover.

Wednesday
What: Sunny
There should be few to no clouds in the area on Wednesday. Any clouds that do manage to pass through will likely be thin and unable to block the sunshine at all. Winds will shift a little closer to becoming due east, but speeds will remain 5-10 mph. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 60s, with both warmer and cooler pockets. Overnight lows may be a touch cooler, with more in the way of low 40s and pockets slipping into the upper 30s, and fewer upper 40s.
Thursday
What: Sunny
Thursday will be another day of more of the same with few if any clouds. Winds will be back to the northeast, still at 5-10 mph. Daytime highs will also be in the same range, with most areas in the mid and upper 60s. Nighttime lows will range across the 40s.
Friday
What:Â Sun, late clouds
Friday will start sunny, and could stay that way throughout the day. However, late in the day, confidence begins to quickly erode away and we could start to see some cloud cover enter from the developing coastal system. Afternoon highs will remain in the mid and upper 60s. Overnight lows will be warmer, with most areas around or slightly above 50 degrees. Winds will be from the north at 5-10 mph.
Saturday-Sunday
What: Uncertain rain chances
As we get into the weekend, the forecast confidence really drops. Models are pretty well split between rain entering from the east at some point versus staying dry. The path of the coastal low may loop back to the west for a time before resuming its northeastward motion. Where, when, and how drastically this happens will play a large role in our rain chances. This is the type of movement that weather models struggle with, though.
I would say rain is most likely late Saturday into Sunday and over the eastern half of the region. If it does rain, though, it would likely be light and showery, and not a steady, heavy dump of rain. This remains a low confidence forecast that will need to be worked out more over the next couple of days.
Temperatures will remain in the 60s during the daytime hours and 50s at night. Steady north winds will blow, with speeds around 10 mph on Saturday and up to 15 mph on Sunday.
Monday
What: Perhaps a few showers
The coastal low will be pulling away from the region on Monday. There is still a chance for a few rain showers, but the chances are smaller than over the weekend. Any rain that does fall should be very light and sporadic, and there should be some sunshine later in the day. North winds will remain, but may turn toward the northwest late in the day. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph. Temperatures will remain steady, with highs in the 60s and nighttime temperatures in the 50s.
Tuesday
What: Sunny
By Tuesday, the low pressure should be well out of the picture and high pressure will take over. This should result in sunny skies. Winds will be calm, or perhaps lightly from the south, which could allow temperatures to bump up to around 70 degrees.
Late Next Week
Rain chances appear to be increasing for late next week or next weekend. Temperatures may continue to be mild or even warm further ahead of this system, then return to the 60s after it passes.
