An area of gusty winds has developed behind the atmospheric disturbance responsible for the earlier severe threat.
Winds are gusting as high as 40 mph, as reported by the New York State Mesonet, where the attached map comes from.

Winds will be gusty for a couple hours, then die off as the windy area as a whole tracks eastward.
By this evening, winds will be calmer across the region.
