As expected, new thunderstorm development is underway over the northeastern Finger Lakes.
While the primary thunderstorm complex dropping south through the Tug Hill will stay to our east, the severe threat over our eastern region is increasing as storms develop over Wayne and Cayuga county.
These storms will strengthen quickly and their coverage area will likely expand.
Damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning at the primary risks. Hail and possibly a tornado are lesser risks, but risks nonetheless.
The storms will move southeastward.
