As expected, an initial round of scattered showers is moving through the Finger Lakes this morning.
There is no lightning showing on the lightning data, but a rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out this morning.
Additional showers and storms are expected to develop during the mid to late afternoon. A few of these could become strong to severe with some scattered tree damage from strong winds.
The best chance for severe weather will be in the yellow shaded areas, with a lesser chance in the green shaded areas. This is not expected to be a widespread, significant event, but rather a localized, scattered event.
I will have another update or two, at minimum, with the next coming during the early afternoon when the next severe storm outlook is due from the Storm Prediction Center.
