After showing signs of weakening as I wrote this morning’s blog post, the northern part of the line of showers and storms moving through the FLX has flared up.

Lighting activity and precipitation rates have both increased across Wayne, Ontario, and northern Yates counties.

The NWS has issued a Special Weather Statement for these storms, which is a notification that can be considered a step below a severe thunderstorm warning.

These storms may stay robust as they move further east across the northern Finger Lakes.

To the south, mainly just rain is falling without much lightning.
