The Storm Prediction Center is monitoring the Finger Lakes region for a severe weather watch in the next hour or two. The area being watched is outlined in red on the accompanying map.
The discussion does not specify if the watch will be a severe thunderstorm or tornado watch. While the possibility for a tornado or two is mentioned in the discussion, I would suspect a severe thunderstorm watch will be issued.
There is some new storm development along the shore of Lake Erie, and this will likely grow upscale into some sort of a line segment as it tracks toward the Finger Lakes by the early afternoon.
