High pressure has moved into the region after a front passed through on Sunday, resulting in some very nice weather to start the week.
There should be plenty of sunshine across the Finger Lakes on Monday, with just some high thin clouds and puffy fair weather clouds at times. The air is much less humid behind the front, with dewpoints settling comfortably around 60º today. Combined with temperatures in the upper 70s, it should feel mild, but not too uncomfortable for most.
Some additional clouds will begin to work in tonight ahead of our next weather system. Rain and some thunder overnight should push into northern New York, but the Finger Lakes area should remain mostly dry.
This weather system will push a front quickly across the region Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will rise to 80º or better before the front moves through and the humidity will be noticeably higher. A few thunderstorms will likely develop over the eastern Finger Lakes/Central New York during the early afternoon.
There is a small chance that some of these storms are able to develop quick enough to produce some small hail or gusty winds, in addition to some downpours, before they quickly push off to the east.
The remainder of the week, at this point, also looks quiet, with temperatures generally near or slightly below average.
