Temperatures will be above normal to start the work week, despite plenty of cloud cover and some showers.

Warmest Monday

Monday will likely turn out to be the warmest day this week. Temperatures this morning are starting near or above 40 degrees.

A batch of showers moved through during the predawn hours. Most of that rain is now east of the area, though a few showers will linger through this morning. In fact, some areas of drizzle and a shower or two will remain possible into the afternoon as well.

During the afternoon, some of the cloud cover will break up between those showers and patches of drizzle. A few glimpses of the sun will be possible as a result. Generally, though, most of today will be rather cloudy.

Temperatures will rise through the 40s this morning with a few low 50s showing up in the northern and western Finger Lakes by noon. By the mid to late afternoon, most areas should be in the upper 50s. With a little extra sun, a few low 60s may be possible.

Temperatures tonight will drop back to around 40 degrees. A few areas of fog may develop.

More Showers Tuesday

Another small weather system will track into the area on Tuesday. This will mean more clouds and showers for the Finger Lakes.

Much of the precipitation from this system will move across Pennsylvania, but a period of showers is likely in the Finger Lakes as well. Some showers will start to move in during the morning hours, but the most widespread shower activity will be during the midday and early afternoon hours.

By the evening hours, showers will have mostly departed to the southeast. Areas of fog and drizzle will persist into Tuesday night, however.

Temperatures on Tuesday will generally be near or just above 50 degrees, which is just slightly above normal for the end of March.

High Pressure Builds In

Wednesday and Thursday will be quieter, slightly cooler days in the Finger Lakes as high pressure builds in from the north.

Temperatures both days will end up close to normal, which means mid and upper 40s for high temperatures.

Wednesday should be quite sunny once a little morning cloud cover burns off. Thursday will start sunny, but turn gradually cloudier out ahead of the next weather system. That will spread rain and wind into the area for Friday.
