Mild temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday, combined with some sunshine filtered through high thin clouds, will make for a couple of nice days.
Quite Nice Tuesday & Wednesday
The Finger Lakes will enjoy some nice weather on Tuesday and Wednesday with mild temperatures and dry conditions.
As expected, it is a bit cool Tuesday morning with lows in the low and mid 40s. The temperatures will jump quite a bit by this afternoon, however. Look for high temperatures today right around or a degree or two above 70 degrees.
Skies will be sunny today, but a layer of thin, high clouds will filter some of the sunshine. Wednesday will be similar before clouds become thicker late in the day.
The temperature tonight will get not as cool, with lows around 50 degrees. Wednesday afternoon should warm into the mid 70s.
Winds will be very light today before increasing some for Wednesday.
Late Week Storm System
The presence of the high, thin clouds is a hint that the weather pattern remains active across the eastern part of the nation. In fact, there are two different systems in play.
First, low pressure over the Southeastern United States is bringing heavy rain to the Deep South and Mid-Atlantic states. Flood watches exist from Mississippi to southern Virginia.
The second system is spinning over the western Great Lakes with showers across the Mid-West and into the Ohio Valley.
High pressure over New England will keep our area dry until early Thursday when rain will start to move in from the southwest as these two system team up.
The timing of the heaviest rain, as well as whether or not thunderstorms will be possible, remains uncertain for Thursday.
Friday is looking showery and cool, with highs possibly not escaping the 50s for some areas.
Many areas will likely receive between a half-inch and an inch of rain from this system before it pulls out late Friday.
