Warm Weather Starts Holiday Weekend
The Finger Lakes will bask in another sunny, warm day on Friday before the weather starts to unravel slightly.
Sunny skies are likely throughout Friday once again. A few high, thin cirrus clouds and perhaps some fair weather cumulus clouds will drift through.
With high pressure to our southeast, warmer air is starting to slide into the region.
High temperatures should reach the low and mid 80s on Friday as a result.
Temperatures this evening will drop back into the 60s, but should not get much cooler.
Cloud cover will be a bit more substantial on Saturday, but some sunshine is still likely.
Most areas will remain dry, but a stray late day shower or storm cannot be totally ruled out.
Highs on Saturday may get held in check some by the clouds, but low 80s are still a good bet.
Rain Chances Sunday-Monday
A number of factors are at play for the second half of the holiday weekend that will bring some chances for rain to the Finger Lakes.
The best chance for rain appears to be on Sunday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be likely, but even now, how it all unfolds is uncertain.
Some areas may get through Sunday with only a little rain, while others could see some locally heavy downpours or slow-moving showers that remain in the same area for a longer than normal period of time.
The chances for severe weather on Sunday currently look very low, but this could still change.
Rain and thunderstorms look more scattered and less numerous on Monday. Some showers and storms are still likely, just less so than on Sunday.
Temperatures will be a bit cooler Sunday, but still mild, thanks to the clouds and rain. Look for highs in the 70s.
Monday could see 80s return, depending on how the rain threat unfolds.
