Pleasant Wednesday

A new area of high pressure will build into the Finger Lakes, resulting in several more days of sunny weather.

This high is still back over the western Great Lakes this morning and will only slowly drift eastward today.

Out ahead of the high, north winds will blow across the Finger Lakes today, delivering some cooler air into the region.

In actuality, the temperature will only be a degree or two shy of normal, but with so much heat so far in July, the upper 70s will feel quite nice.

Humidity levels will be very low. The north wind will gust over 20 mph throughout the day, but should not reach 30 mph.

Skies will be quite sunny for most of the day. An area of high, thin clouds may filter the sunshine during the later afternoon hours. Skies should clear again during the evening.

Overnight temperatures will be comfortable, but not too chilly, with most areas dropping into the low and mid 50s.

Warming Trend

Wednesday will be the coolest upcoming day as we kick off another warming trend.

High pressure will redevelop off the coast of northern New England, allowing warmer air to seep in from the southwest.

Temperatures on Thursday will be back into the 80s, with mid 80s across most of the Finger Lakes and low 80s in the Southern Tier.

Friday will be warmer yet with highs into the upper 80s and low 90s. Both days should be sunny.

Temperatures may retreat slightly on Saturday as a few showers drift through the region. Like Tuesday, most areas will probably not see much, if any rain.

Sunday and Monday should be back into the sunshine with temperatures at or above 90 degrees.

The next chance for substantial rain will come around Tuesday next week, but this far out of course, that remains uncertain at best.
