Most of the Finger Lakes will remain dry this weekend. However, the chances for rain are not completely absent with a few pop-up showers or storms Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

It is important to remember that even in the areas shaded in yellow in the following maps, rain showers will be few and far between. Being in a yellow area does not mean it will rain for sure, just as being outside of a yellow area cannot completely guarantee a 100% dry day.
The maps are intended to highlight the areas most likely to see a couple isolated showers during the afternoon hours.
On Friday, the chance for showers will be limited to the southwestern Finger Lakes, namely over the Southern Tier west and south of an Elmira-Bath-Dansville line. The further south and west, the better the chances for rain. Most of the activity Friday afternoon will be south of the NY-PA state line, however.
A stray shower may be possible through the overnight as well. There is no map showing this, as the chances are very small and equal across the entire region.
On Saturday, the threat for a few showers will spread north and east. Roughly , the southern half of the Finger Lakes is most at risk, including places like Watkins Glen, Ithaca, Penn Yan, Cortland, and Dansville.
The final chance for rain this weekend will come Sunday morning. Again, no map is provided for this time period, as the chances are uniformly low across the region.
Most of the showers this weekend will be brief and light. A few heavier afternoon downpours and a couple claps of thunder cannot be totally ruled out. In the end though, the majority of the region will see very little to no rain this weekend.
