Weak Cold Front
A small area of low pressure will track along a weak cold front, bringing rain back into the Finger Lakes later today.
This low is currently situated over the Ohio Valley and will lift northeast into the Finger Lakes. Rain should begin arriving from southwest to northeast during the early afternoon.
Before the rain arrives, skies will be mostly cloudy, with perhaps a peek of sunshine here and there. The best chance for sun will be early on.
Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s and low 50s with the warmer temperatures mostly near and east of Seneca Lake. A few places could sneak into the mid 50s.
Once the rain arrives, it will fall steadily for several hours before tapering off. After a dry period of 1-2 hours, a second band of rain will track from west to east during the early evening hours. This rain may have a couple downpours. A rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out, either.
This rain should be out of the area by about 9 PM as the cold front presses through. Cooler air will work in, with overnight temperatures falling into the low and mid 30s. A few snow showers will be possible with a light coating in a couple areas.
A couple flurries or rain showers will be possible on Wednesday. Otherwise, it will be a rather cloudy day, though a little late sunshine may try to work through. High temperatures on Wednesday will reach the mid 40s.
Sunshine will increase for Thursday with no precipitation expected. Highs will again settle in the mid 40s.

Temperatures Fall, then Rise Again
A new low pressure system will move into the area for Friday. This low will pass to our south, keeping us on the cool side of the system.
Temperatures Friday will reach the mid or even upper 30s, but colder air aloft will increase our chances of seeing more snow than rain. Still, with the warm temperatures, accumulations will be hard to come by, especially on the roads.
Grassy surfaces may see a couple inches over the course of the day. Roads may be a bit slick very early and late in the day, but major travel issues are not expected.
The snow will end Friday evening, and skies should be mostly clear by Saturday morning. Temperatures early Saturday will be cold, falling back into the teens.
Saturday will be sunny throughout the day as high pressure builds in. The sunshine will help temperatures rise into the low and mid 30s for highs.
That high will move east Saturday night, and south winds will kick in. Temperatures will drop into the 20s during the evening, but may rise a few degrees before dawn as warmer air begins to move in.
Sunday looks sunny and very warm as temperatures soar back into the 50s. Monday will also see widespread 50s, though clouds will be on the increase.
Rain will then move back in on Tuesday as a cold front moves through the region.
