Weekend Weather Forecast

High pressure is overhead to start the day Friday, but a cold front will move into the area this evening.

Clear skies and calm winds beneath the high have allowed temperatures to drop into the 20s and low 30s this morning. Temperatures should rise quickly this morning with sunny skies and a developing southwest wind.

Clouds will start to move in this afternoon as highs peak in the mid and upper 50s. A few warm pockets may reach 60 degrees.

A few stray showers will be possible late in the afternoon and will continue into the evening. Not all areas will see rain, and those that do should only see minimal amounts.

Temperatures will mainly stay in the mid 40s with a few cooler pockets.

Northwest winds will develop overnight and become blustery on Saturday. Wind speeds will be 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Spits of lake effect rain will be possible throughout the day. A piece of atmospheric energy will pass through during the afternoon, leading to a slight increase in showers. Most areas will not see rain most of the day, though.

Temperatures on Saturday will peak in the low and mid 50s, though it may drop a few degrees during the latter half of the afternoon.

Skies should clear Saturday evening, sending temperatures into the lower half of the 30s. Sunday will then have a mix of sun and clouds, lighter winds, and highs in the low 50s.

Weather Next Week

Much of next week will have quiet weather with warming temperatures as high pressure builds into the eastern United States.

Monday will have a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will start cold with 20s and 30s before rising to a high in the mid 50s.

The amount of sun Tuesday and Wednesday is uncertain. Areas of clouds high in the atmosphere are likely to be passing through. Whether these will be thin enough to allow some filtered sunlight through, or if it will just be cloudy, remains to be seen.

Regardless, temperatures will undergo a quick transition. Afternoon highs Tuesday will be in the low 60s with low 70s on Wednesday. Nighttime temperatures, too, will warm. Monday night will drop to around 40 degrees while Tuesday night stays in the low 50s.

Thursday, which is Halloween, will be the warmest day with highs pushing into the mid 70s. It should be a mild, pleasant evening for Trick-or-Treating.

As we head into next weekend and early November, the weather should turn more unsettled and cooler.
