Holiday Weather
A quick moving weather system freshened up our snow cover last night, but now, quiet weather will settle into place for several days.
Skies will remain overcast today and a few spits of snow cannot be ruled out. No additional snow accumulation is expected and most areas will be dry most of the time.
Winds will swing around to the northwest for a time with speeds up to 10 mph. Nonetheless, afternoon highs will push into the low and mid 30s.
Cloudy skies will persist for Christmas Eve, but nothing more than a lingering stray flurry is expected. Overnight temperatures will fall into the low and mid 20s with light winds.
There will be no weather concerns tomorrow for Christmas Day. Clouds will hang tough, though a few glimpses of afternoon sun will be possible. Winds will be nearly calm. Afternoon highs will be around 30 degrees.
The chances for some sun should increase into Thursday. The clearing will start Wednesday night, leading overnight lows into the upper 10s. Afternoon highs on Thursday should be in the low 30s.
More substantial warming will start to take place late in the week and into the weekend.
Friday will see highs climb into the upper 30s. Some sunshine will be filtered by a layer of thin clouds. The clouds will probably get thicker later in the day.
A few spits of rain will be possible on Saturday as highs push into the low 40s. Sunday looks rather rainy, but mild with highs into the upper 40s.
Highs will remain in the 40s on Monday with a few lingering showers. More rain is expected toward the middle of next week with temperatures slowly dropping.
With the quiet weather and holidays, my next blog post will come Friday morning. Have a very merry Christmas.
