Early Week Weather
Clouds remain plentiful across the Finger Lakes region this morning, a theme that will likely be common throughout the week.
For all the cloud cover, weather conditions will be rather quiet today. Any rain that falls should be limited to very isolated, very brief showers or some drizzle.
For the most part, though, it will be dry today.
Temperatures will range through the 70s, with upper 70s to the north, low 70s to the south, and mid 70s in between.
Winds will be from the south and southeast with light speeds of 5-10 mph. Air quality will not be a concern with an absence of smoke in the atmosphere.
Quiet but cloudy conditions will persist tonight with lows in the low 60s.
A few showers may start to show up Tuesday morning with a better chance for rain during the afternoon. This rain will mainly stay light, but could be persistent in some areas.
Showers will continue into Tuesday evening before gradually diminishing.
Tuesday’s temperatures will remain in the mid 70s with south winds around 10 mph.

Uncertain Rain, Storm Chances
Forecast confidence begins to go down as early as Wednesday due to a weather pattern lacking a strong pressure system, either high or low. Also, thunderstorm development upstream the previous night may begin to have an influence on our weather as well.
Both Wednesday and Thursday may have some showers and storms about. The timing and likelihood of storms will need to be further resolved over the next 48 hours.
Winds aloft will be light on Wednesday, likely preventing any severe weather from becoming a concern. Thursday will have stronger winds, though.
By the end of the week, the confidence in the precipitation forecast is quite low. At this time, for what it is worth, Friday looks to have a higher chance for showers and storms than Saturday does.
Temperatures will bounce around a bit during this time, rising into the 80s on Wednesday and near 80 on Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday nights will be warm with lows well into the 60s.
Friday will briefly be a bit cooler in the 70s before 80s start to come back this weekend.
By Sunday, not only will temperatures be turning hot, but the humidity will start to increase as well. Dewpoints at or above 70 degrees are likely on Sunday.
A couple of hot, very humid days are expected early next week with a real shot at 90 degrees either Monday or Tuesday, or both. Dewpoints could push into the mid or even upper 70s, making it feel truly soupy.
Eventually, a cold front will come through toward the middle of next week.
