Mid-Week Weather Forecast
High pressure will be in control of the weather today, giving us a quiet day between stormy cold fronts.
Clouds will be hard to come by today with start to finish sunshine expected. Any clouds that do make an appearance will be limited to some small fair-weather clouds or a few thin clouds.
Steady but light northwest winds will blow throughout the day with speeds over 5 mph, but under 10 mph.
Temperatures will be in the low 80s, though the typically warmer valley and urban areas will see mid 80s. A few higher elevations may stick just below 80 degrees.
Dewpoints will be in the 60s and even upper 50s, resulting in a less humid and more comfortable air mass.
Clear skies will persist into the nighttime hours with a few clouds eventually working in during the predawn hours. Overnight lows will range from the mid 60s along and north of the Thruway to some upper 50s across the Southern Tier.
A cold front will drop southeast through the region tomorrow.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely, especially during the middle of the day. Severe weather should be limited to an isolated stronger storm here or there.
Highs will be around 80 degrees with dewpoints sticking to the 60s. Some late day sun will be possible as the front departs.
Thursday night will become clear and cool, with lows dipping down well into the 50s.

Friday will be mostly sunny like today. Winds will be a bit stronger than today, coming in closer to 10 mph from the north-northwest.
Afternoon highs will mainly be in the mid and upper 70s. A few low 70s will be possible in the hills. Dewpoints will be comfortably low in the 50s.
Winds will swing around to the south Friday night, but most areas should still drop into the 50s.
Saturday will also be sunny, though some thin clouds will mix in. The southerly breeze, which will be light, will help boost temperatures into the mid 80s.
Temperatures will continue to climb on Sunday, with morning lows in the upper 60s and afternoon highs ranging from the upper 80s to the low 90s. Humidity will increase as well, with dewpoints pushing toward 70 degrees.
Rain should not return to the area until Monday, most likely during the afternoon. Scattered showers and storms will be possible as a cold front moves through.
Temperatures Monday will depend on the timing of the front, but should at least reach the mid 80s if not warmer.
The middle of next week will be cooler with highs somewhere around 80 degrees. Unsettled weather will build in again for the end of the week.
