Sunny, Dry Weather
Multiple high pressure systems will dominate the weather this week, keeping our weather sunny and dry.
There will be next to no chances for rainfall throughout the work week, and the weekend will likely stay dry as well.
Temperatures will moderate as well, but will still be cool today and tomorrow morning.
Highs this afternoon will mainly stay in the mid and upper 60s, though a few of the warmer urban and valley locations will end up around 70 degrees.
Fair weather clouds will bubble up this morning and dissipate toward sunset.
Clear skies and calm winds overnight will send temperatures down again, with many areas getting as cold as this morning.
Isolated pockets of frost will be possible in the coldest areas, mainly in Cortland County and the western Southern Tier. Most areas will stay near or above 40 degrees, though.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and a touch warmer with most areas breaking into the 70s.
South and southeast winds around 5 mph Tuesday night will keep temperatures a bit higher with lows mainly in the upper half of the 40s.
Wednesday will have some thin clouds and perhaps a couple fair weather clouds. Highs will rise to the mid 70s, and overnight lows will be in the upper 40s to the south and the low 50s to the north.
Thursday and Friday will be very similar to each other with sun and fair weather clouds and highs in the mid 70s. Winds will be light and variable.
It is too early to totally discount a stray shower Saturday or Sunday, but for the most part, dry, mild weather will persist. Saturday may see some areas push toward 80 degrees.
The next chance for rain will be early next week. The weather system passing through will be slow moving, so there will be a chance for some meaningful rainfall, but it is too early to count on that, and said system could still miss our area altogether.
