Weekend Weather Forecast
A mainly dry weekend will turn into another dry week next week with temperatures nosing higher.
Weather models have finally come to a solid consensus on the weather this weekend as a subtle area of low pressure passes through. For most areas, this will mean a continued streak of no rainfall.
Friday will end up much like the last couple of days. Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds, winds will be light and variable, and temperatures will mainly be in the mid 70s.
Skies will be mostly clear this evening with a few thin clouds during the overnight hours. Lows will generally stay in the lower half of the 50s.
Saturday may have a few extra clouds, but temperatures will be a couple degrees warmer, too. Most areas will be above 75 degrees, and a few may break 80 degrees.
Rain chances will be limited to a few stray, light showers late in the afternoon and into the evening hours. The northeastern quadrant of the region will have the best chance for seeing these showers. Any rain that falls, however, will be insignificant.
Winds Saturday will remain light and variable.
Saturday night’s lows will range throughout the 50s, with most areas somewhere around 55 degrees.
A few showers will remain possible into Sunday morning, but these will probably end up even fewer and further between.
Otherwise, Sunday will be more of the same with sun, clouds, and highs in the mid 70s. Winds will be northerly near or slightly over 5 mph.

Dry Next Week, Too
This stretch of dry weather will persist well into and likely through next week as well.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all look completely dry. Thursday and Friday will most likely end up dry too, but a couple outlier models at least hint at the chances for some rain showers. I am not at all convinced by that, though.
The next substantial looking chance for rain is not showing up until early the following week, and even that is only showing on about half of the models this far out.
While the weekly drought report that was issued yesterday did not show much of any change in the Finger Lakes region, I expect to see an increase in area and severity of drought conditions on next week’s report.
Temperatures will also be on the rise next week.
Monday will follow our recent pattern with highs in the mid 70s, but Tuesday will see a jump to near 80 degrees. Most areas will be into the 80s on Wednesday.
Temperatures are a bit less certain late in the week, coinciding with the small chance for rain, but will likely remain mild to warm.
Nighttime temperatures will generally range through the 50s next week, even for the typically colder pockets.
Winds will also remain generally light and variable with wind speeds not rising to over 5 mph again until perhaps next Friday.
