As low pressure pulls away today, humidity and cloud cover will decrease. Tuesday looks sunny and mild, and the majority of the region will stay dry on Wednesday, too. A muggy, unsettled second half of the week is expected, which may persist into the weekend.

Monday
What: Morning clouds & showers, then some sun.
Low pressure is tracking just north of the area this morning, dragging a cold front through as it passes by. Clouds and a few more showers will wrap around the backside of the low and should depart during the midday and early afternoon. Sunshine will then increase, with skies becoming mostly clear by sunset.
Some blustery northwest winds will set up behind the cold front this morning and continue through the afternoon. Wind speeds will be around 15 mph and a few gusts may eclipse the 30 mph mark. These winds will bring in cooler, less humid air. Dewpoints will fall through the 60s over the course of the day, and afternoon highs will mainly be in the low 70s with some warmer and cooler pockets.
Clear skies and calming winds tonight will allow temperatures to range through the 50s. Areas of fog in the usual summertime places, mainly in the Southern Tier, should be expected.
Tuesday
What: Lots of sun.
High pressure will be in control of the weather on Tuesday, bringing sunshine and nearly calm winds. Humidity will be low with dewpoints generally around 60 degrees. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s and low 80s. A light south wind will develop Tuesday night, keeping most areas in the 60s.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds. Maybe a late shower or storm.
South winds will remain in place on Wednesday with speeds no higher than 10 mph. Humidity will increase with mid 60s dewpoints, and afternoon highs will push toward the mid 80s. Skies will be a typical summertime mix of sun and clouds. There will be a small chance for a stray shower or storm late across the western half of the region, with a few more stray showers region-wide during the nighttime hours. Overnight lows will be in the mid and locally upper 60s.
Thursday
What: Rain and thunderstorms.
Rain will return to the area in earnest on Thursday with numerous showers and thunderstorms. Locally heavy downpours will be the main concern with any storms. It will be humid with dewpoints around 70 degrees. Afternoon highs will depend on how much rain is falling but should make it at least into the low 80s.
Friday
What: Scattered showers and storms.
At least some scattered showers and storms are likely on Friday, but it could also end up being another rather rainy day. Again, flooding from heavy downpours will be the main concern for any weather hazards, but the details are too uncertain this far out to tell what sort of threat may or may not develop. It will remain very humid with highs around 80 degrees.
Saturday
What: Scattered showers and storms.
Unsettled weather is currently expected to persist into the weekend, though each day further out loses more and more confidence. At this point, if you have outdoor plans on Saturday, continue to just monitor the forecast. Warm, muggy air will likely still be in place.
Sunday
What: A few morning showers.
The pattern may begin to shift on Sunday with mostly just stray morning showers as the forecast looks right now. It will still be muggy, though dewpoints may retreat a little. Extra sunshine will help push highs back toward the mid 80s.
Next Week
A cold front is expected sometime during the first half of next week with another day or two of rain. Unsettled weather may remain in place behind the front as well. Temperatures will decrease, reaching the 70s by the middle of the week and remaining there into the weekend.
