Clouds and a few showers associated with the weekend nor’easter will linger over the area Monday and even into Tuesday. Wednesday will have thin overcast and some filtered sun, while Thursday should see an increase in sunshine. Temperatures will gradually warm, peaking Thursday in the upper 70s. A cold front will bring rain on Friday and a temperature reset for what currently looks like a dry weekend.

Monday
What: A few showers
The coastal low from the weekend continues to spin off the shore of New Jersey, but will continue to weaken and will start to move northeastward today. As of 7am, another band of showers was spiraling into the eastern Finger Lakes. This should be the primary area of rain today, though stray showers and patchy drizzle will continue to be possible. It will likely remain cloudy throughout the day as well. North winds will remain with speeds up to 10 mph. Temperatures will remain steady, with highs in the mid 60s and nighttime temperatures in the mid 50s.
Tuesday
What: Clouds, some late sun
Rain is not expected on Tuesday, though clouds and perhaps a little morning drizzle are likely. Through the afternoon, clouds will gradually erode away from north to south. Some areas may only catch a glimpse of sun before it sets, while others will see several hours of sunshine. Temperatures will start to rise, reaching the upper 60s with northwest winds of 5-10 mph. Nighttime temperatures will remain in the mid 50s.
Wednesday
What: Clouds, some filtered sun
A deck of thin overcast is expected on Wednesday. Some limited sunshine will likely filter through. No rain is expected, and the forecast could still shift to a become a bit sunnier. Temperatures should continue to warm with highs in the low and mid 70s as a light south wind develops. Nighttime temperatures will be around 60 degrees.
Thursday
What: Sun and clouds
Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with highs pushing into the mid and upper 70s. A few urban areas may even have a shot at 80 degrees. Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds with no rain expected. South winds will be around 10 mph. Overnight temperatures will be in the upper 50s as a cold front moves into the area with some predawn rain.
Friday

Friday is our next best chance for rain as the cold front continues to slowly pass through. While uncertain this far out, there may be several hours of steady rainfall. Rain amounts will generally be on the lighter side, under a half inch. Temperatures will back off with highs in the mid and upper 60s. Nighttime temperatures will reach the upper 40s as skies start to clear. Friday’s winds will be light, eventually ending up from the northwest.
Saturday
What: Sunny
At this time, Saturday looks bright and sunny behind Friday’s cold front. Light north and northeast winds will blow. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 60s with nighttime temperatures around 50 degrees.
Sunday
What: Sun and clouds
A small disturbance may pass by to the south on Sunday. There is a chance this could result in some rain, but right now, a dry day is favored with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be from the southeast and south with highs in the mid 60s
Next Week
The highest chances for rain next week appear to be early in the week, though there may be another system with showers next weekend. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs possibly not escaping the 50s Monday and Tuesday and only reaching the low 60s later in the week.
