Expires: Friday, August 9, 2024, 2 PM
The next couple of hours will be the peak of the hazardous weather across the Finger Lakes.
New Flash Flood Warnings have been issued for parts or all of Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Tompkins, Schuyler, Chemung, and Tioga counties.
A Flash Flood Emergency continues in Steuben County.
Winds are picking up as the center of low pressure moves into the area.
The rain is still expected to end from southwest to northeast by the mid-afternoon, though showers may linger into the early evening.
The tornado threat is likely very limited โ there has not been much tornadic activity so far and there are limited factors in the mid-levels of the atmosphere. A brief spin up over Chemgung, Tioga, Tompkins, or Cortland county is still not completely out of the question, though.
