Precipitation continues to spread across the Finger Lakes this afternoon and now covers most of the region.
The majority of this is falling as rain, but both the radar and spotter reports are indicating that some snow is starting to fall in the southeastern Finger Lakes.
The change from rain to snow will accelerate as the sun sets and evening sets in. Please let me know when this happens for you! These reports are much more useful than even the radar coloring, which is just an applied algorithm and isn’t terribly accurate.
As usual, there are no major changes to my forecast or my thinking. I am not in the habit of chasing each newest batch of model data, and instead base my forecasts off much more than that.
Be sure to read my blog post from this morning for full details.
