The Storm Prediction Center’s mid-morning update very slightly nudged the thunderstorm and tornado risk westward, but overall, did not change their outlook.
The greatest risk for severe thunderstorms and possibly a brief tornado will be over the far southeastern Finger Lakes from the midday through the mid afternoon.
These storms will not necessarily have a lot of lightning, so there may not be much advance warning. Heavy downpours will also bring a flash flooding threat.
The next update from the SPC to the outlook graphic is scheduled for 12:30 PM.
