Pleasant Monday, Active Tuesday
After a cool, cloudy weekend, Monday will get the week started on a high note. However, active weather will quickly return Monday night and into Tuesday.
For this morning, areas of fog and even a couple of isolated, light rain showers will gradually transition to a mix of sun and clouds.
The best chance for sunny skies will likely come from the late morning to the early afternoon.
By the mid-afternoon, a new batch of some clouds associated with overnight thunderstorms in the Midwest will move in. These clouds may still let some filtered sunshine through.
A shower cannot be ruled out in the late afternoon hours.
Temperatures will push back above normal today, with highs most places reaching the upper 70s.
The chances for showers and perhaps a couple thunderstorms will increase this evening and overnight. Some places will probably remain dry while others see some brief, heavier downpours.
Tuesday Storm Uncertainties
Exactly how Tuesday unfolds is still a major question.
A very warm, unstable air mass will try to work in from the south while a disturbance in the atmosphere swings in from the northwest.
This combination will likely trigger a line of strong to severe thunderstorms across northern and eastern Pennsylvania.
There is a chance that at least the southeastern Finger Lakes could get into enough of this unstable air to result in some potentially strong thunderstorms as well.
The time for concern appears to be during the midday or early afternoon hours.
Further north and west, periods of rain are likely, especially during the morning hours.
The radar and surface weather trends early tomorrow morning will be very important in determining what the rest of the day may hold. Stay tuned.
Quiet Again Until the Weekend
The rest of this week is looking rather quiet.
Precipitation looks unlikely Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. At least partial sunshine is likely Wednesday and Thursday. Friday may end up cloudier as the next system approaches.
That system will move in for the weekend with more chances for rain and thunderstorms.
High temperatures will be mild, with Wednesday and Thursday reaching the 70s.
With the extra cloud cover, Friday will likely turn out cooler, with highs in the 60s.

I like how dedicated you are to getting the weather right. I like the confidence rating. If you’re not sure you always say so. You don’t try to predict the weather for 2 weeks out like others do and then have to change it a bunch of times to match the actual weather. Great job! 👍👍👍
