Low pressure will bring widespread heavy rain to the Finger Lakes during the day Saturday with showers continuing into Sunday.

An area of high pressure will slide through the region today, bringing us quiet weather for Friday.

It will likely stay pretty cloudy over the area, but some breaks of sun are possible from time to time. Temperatures will rise into the low 70s today.

Clouds will thicken overnight as low pressure moves into the Ohio Valley. Some rain from this system may start to work into southwest New York before the sun rises on Saturday. During Saturday morning, the rain should overspread much of the Finger Lakes and continue through the day and into Saturday night.

The rain will be heavy at times, with almost everyone getting an inch or more. Some localized areas could see over 2″. Generally speaking, flooding should not be a problem, but some localized areas could see some problems if even more rain falls.

Showers will continue on Sunday, with some areas picking up another 0.5″ of rain.
