Showery Sunday

A weak weather system will push through the Finger Lakes on Sunday. Temperatures will slowly drop and showers will spread across the region.

Some scattered showers are already making their way into the area as of 9am and should become more widespread. The best chance for rain will be later this morning and into the first half of the afternoon.

This rain is not expected to be particularly heavy, with most places receiving less than a quarter inch of rain. A brief, heavier downpour will be possible, especially across the Southern Tier.

Temperatures are starting the day in the low 50s, but will slowly fall, especially during the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures will end up in the mid and upper 40s.

Rain showers will taper off later this afternoon into this evening. A few light showers or areas of drizzle may persist into early Monday morning. Temperatures tonight will drop back into the upper 30s and low 40s.

Dry for Halloween

Any showers than linger into Monday morning should dissipate as the morning wears on. It will remain cloudy much of the day, but a little sun may work its way out late in the afternoon.

By the time dark falls, skies will be in the process of turning clear.

With the clouds remaining thick most of the day, temperatures will be cool. Most areas will see a high Monday afternoon in the mid 40s.

As skies clear in the evening, the temperature will drop into the 30s. Trick-or-treating will be a chilly affair this year, but it will at least remain dry.

Warm Week Ahead

After Monday, the remainder of the upcoming week looks quite mild.

Temperatures will be near 60 degrees on Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday will be the warmest day though, with highs approaching 70 degrees.

Temperatures will return to average by the end of the week.

The best chance for rain will on Thursday as a cold front moves through. A few showers may also be possible on Wednesday, but generally speaking, it will be a fairly dry week.
