Showers Friday into Early Saturday
There will be some periods of rain in the Finger Lakes today, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
However, the thunderstorm potential does not look very robust today and there may well be plenty of dry time, too.
Generally speaking, the morning hours should be rather quiet. There are a couple showers on the FLX Weather Radar early this morning across portions of the eastern Finger Lakes.
These type of widely scattered, slow moving showers will remain a possibility into the early afternoon.
The chances for rain will start to increase by the mid and late afternoon as additional showers and a few thunderstorms develop.
While one or two storms could briefly get a bit strong with some small hail or gusty winds, severe weather is generally not expected today. This is despite temperatures pushing into the mid 80s this afternoon.
A few showers or storms may linger throughout the overnight hours and into the morning hours on Saturday before any activity pushes east of the region.
Great Weekend Weather
Once the chance for showers ends Saturday morning, increasing amounts of sunshine are likely for the afternoon.
The wind Saturday afternoon will be a bit gusty and temperatures will be just a touch cool, with highs in the low to perhaps mid 70s. The humidity will be noticeably lower as well.
Clear skies Saturday night will let temperatures slip back into the 50s for Sunday morning.
Bright sunny skies should help the temperature warm nicely though, with highs Sunday in the upper 70s. The humidity will remain low and the winds will be less than on Saturday, making for a picture perfect day.
Monday should stay dry before a number of systems spread rain towards our region later next week.
