Weekend Weather Forecast
A persistent area of low pressure will remain over eastern Canada through the weekend, but confidence is rising that at least the afternoons this weekend will not be too rainy.
A few impulses of energy will move around the low, triggering showers in our area from time to time. One such disturbance will arrive this afternoon. Showers and a few storms will begin to develop during the late morning and midday hours and will continue off and on through the afternoon.
Most of these showers will be small, individual cells or perhaps a few small clusters. As such, the rain will often be short lived today as individual cells pass through. Rain amounts will also be highly variable, and a few places may end up getting missed altogether.
The showers will diminish late in the day, but a few more stray showers will be possible into the evening hours.
Temperatures today will be notably cooler than recent days with highs around 70 degrees. Overnight lows will be in the low and mid 50s.
The daytime hours on Saturday will be mainly dry. Just a few stray showers will be possible here or there.
Sun and clouds will mix and winds will be blustery. Wind speeds will be up to 15 mph, coming from the west-northwest, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
Temperatures will generally be around or slightly above 70 degrees.
Rain will move in with the next disturbance Saturday evening and continue off and on through the night. Showers will linger into Sunday morning but should taper off for the afternoon. A stray spit of rain will still be possible, but most areas should turn out dry.
Northwest winds will become blustery again, with similar speeds as Saturday. There will probably be less sun than on Saturday and temperatures will be a couple degrees cooler.
Weather Next Week
One final disturbance will probably move through the area on Monday.
Scattered showers will be possible at any time during the day, but the afternoon will probably be most favored.
Winds will remain out of the northwest but will not be as blustery as the weekend. Temperatures will be cooler, though.
Morning lows will start in the low and mid 50s with a few pockets slipping into the upper 40s. Afternoon highs will mostly stick to the mid 60s.
Monday night will likely remain cloudy. Even still, temperatures will fall into the mid and upper 40s and low 50s. If skies were to clear, it could get cooler.
Clouds will eventually give way to sun on Tuesday with temperatures rising to around 70 degrees.
Wednesday will have a mix of sun and clouds and seasonable temperatures with afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
From there, it will continue to get warmer. Thursday will see highs around 80 degrees with low and mid 80s on Friday.
Some unsettled weather will move in for the late week period, but overall, the pattern into the following week looks primarily dry. Temperatures will continue to be warm to hot.
