Mid-Week Weather Forecast
A broad area of lower pressures exists across the northeastern quadrant of the nation.
Embedded within this area are several atmospheric disturbances and small frontal boundaries.
One such area is over southeastern Michigan and southwestern Ontario this morning, while a slightly better-defined low pressure is north of the Upper Great Lakes.
Out ahead of this pair, mid and high-level clouds are streaming northeastward toward our region. These, combined with some morning low level clouds, have the area off to a cloudy start today.
Clouds will be a constant companion throughout the day, but they should thin out some at times, allowing for some filtered sun here and there.
A stray shower cannot be totally ruled out as the Michigan disturbance travels east and dissipates. Most areas will remain completely dry, though.
Without any well-defined systems nearby, winds will be light and variable to nearly calm today.
Still, high temperatures will start to nudge their way upward with most areas in the low 80s and a few pockets of mid 80s this afternoon.
There will be little change during the overnight with mostly cloudy skies and mostly calm winds. Again, a stray shower cannot be ruled out, but will be hard to come by. Overnight lows will dip into the mid 60s.
The low pressure will pass to our north tomorrow, triggering a bit more in the way of precipitation.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely develop in the afternoon, but there are questions as to how widespread they become. There will be some ingredients present in the atmosphere for an isolated severe storm or two.
As we’ve seen twice now in the last week, with the surprise large hail last Thursday and an unwarned EF-2 Tornado in Ontario County on Monday, severe weather can and does surprise in these types of setups, and it can be nearly impossible to get a good handle on how the many levels of the varying ingredients will interact.
We are at the time of year when thunderstorms can be full of surprises, so it is best to always take thunderstorms and especially warnings seriously, just in case.

Weekend Weather Forecast
A quiet weather day is expected on Friday with a mix of sun and clouds.
It will remain warm with highs in the mid and even upper 80s. Dewpoints will be well into the 60s, making it feel a bit muggy, but probably not oppressively so.
Forecast confidence begins to erode a bit by the weekend.
Saturday should be mostly dry, but a few scattered showers may still dot the region from time to time.
Any rain Saturday should be light and relatively short-lived, so it should not have too many major impacts on outdoor plans.
On the other hand, Sunday will be our next chance for showers and storms. These may linger into Monday as well, though Sunday seems like a more likely time for storms. It is too early to tell what sort of severe weather we may or may not have to deal with.
Warm, muggy conditions will persist.
Saturday will have highs at least in the mid 80s. If there are fewer clouds and showers and more sun, upper 80s and even a few 90 degree readings will be very possible.
Saturday night will be very warm, with many areas not dropping below 70 degrees. Sunday’s highs should be limited to the mid 80s with more clouds and showers about.
Even behind the system that will bring the showers and storms, temperatures will not really change. Monday and Tuesday should both be in the mid 80s.
Temperatures may add a few more degrees later next week. A late week cold front will bring some showers and storms with temperatures retreating, possibly to the 70s, for a day or two around next weekend.
