Weekend Weather Forecast
High pressure will keep control of our weather through the weekend, though its position will shift a bit further east.
This will bring in a slight southerly flow that will not only warm temperatures but help dissipate the lingering smoke.
Skies will still look hazy at times, especially Friday and Saturday, but air quality will continue to slowly improve and should not be a major concern through the weekend.
Temperatures will warm a bit each day but will not peak until early next week.
For Friday, temperatures will be in the same general range that they have been the last few days. Many areas will be in the low to mid 80s with only the warmest urban centers likely to get above 85 degrees.
Upper 50s and low to mid 60s are expected Friday night, leading into more widespread mid 80s and a few upper 80s on Saturday.
Saturday night’s temperatures will be similar to Friday night’s, but Sunday will add a few more degrees to the afternoon highs. Some areas along and north of I-90 will be around 90 degrees, while the rest of the region sees upper 80s with a few mid 80s in the cooler, hilly areas.
All through the weekend, dewpoints will be on the low side, generally staying in the upper 50s to low 60s. This will take a bit of the edge off the building heat, as it will not feel too humid out.
The lack of moisture in the atmosphere will also keep clouds mainly limited to high, thin clouds that are unable to produce precipitation.

When Will It Rain?
It will be more of the same for early next week with temperatures continuing to creep upward on Monday and Tuesday.
Morning lows Monday will be in the low and mid 60s. Afternoon highs will generally be around 90 degrees, with warmer areas getting above 90, and cooler areas ending up just short.
Tuesday will start in the mid and upper 60s on the way to highs a couple degrees above Monday. Many areas will be near and above 90 degrees.
Dewpoints will continue to be low, even into Tuesday, keeping the humidity down and heat index values close to the actual temperature.
Both days should be dry, though our first chances for rain may come later Tuesday night as a weather system approaches.
Wednesday continues to look like it has a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms. The timing of the cold front with this system will determine the details.
At this early stage, conditions for severe weather do not look great, but that doesn’t mean a few frisky storms will not be possible.
Showers will be possible on Thursday, depending on the speed of the front. Temperatures should be knocked back to the low 80s, though 70s will be possible if it ends up rainier.
Temperatures will generally remain in the lower half of the 80s late next week and into the weekend with lower rain chances than the middle of the week.
