The next two days will be dry, but a widespread soaking rain is likely on Saturday. The rest of the holiday weekend will have a few showers with temperatures warming to the low 70s by Monday. The weather should stabilize into a pattern of mild temperatures and low chances for rain next week and beyond.
Thursday
What:Â Sunny, cool
Winds will be out of the north today with steady but light speeds, ensuring highs will only make it to the mid 50s. Skies will have varying degrees of thin clouds which will filter the sunshine at times. The thin clouds should depart by the late afternoon. Clear skies and calm winds tonight will send lows into the low 40s. Frost does not look like it will be a concern, though it cannot be 100% ruled out in the coldest of the cold pockets.
Friday
What:Â Increasing clouds
Friday will be quiet with sunshine gradually becoming filtered by increasing and thickening clouds. Winds will be light from the east and southeast with highs in the mid 60s. Overnight temperatures will be propped up by thickening cloud cover, with lows reaching the upper 40s to the south and low 50s to the north. A few rain showers may arrive in the southwestern areas before sunrise.
Saturday
What:Â Rainy
Rain will spread from southwest to northeast across the region during the morning hours. By midday, most areas should be locked into steady rain. Rain will fall through the afternoon and into the evening, gradually tapering to showers overnight. Many areas should see around or over an inch of rain, though some northeastern areas may see a little less. A couple localized amounts approaching two inches is possible. Temperatures will change little with the rain, with some areas, particularly in the south, not getting above 50 degrees.
Sunday
What: Scattered showers
Sunday’s weather is still a bit uncertain as Saturday’s system lingers around, but it should not be nearly the washout Saturday will be. In fact, there is a chance that the shower activity may remain fairly limited to the morning hours. Some areas may even sneak through the day with little to no rainfall. Temperatures will bounce back a bit, reaching the mid 60s.
Memorial Day (Monday)
What: A few showers
Memorial Day may also have a few lingering showers about, but should generally be fairly dry, especially in the afternoon. Temperatures should continue to rise with highs slightly above 70 degrees.
Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds
Tuesday looks quiet and mild with sun and clouds and a high slightly in the mid 70s.
Late Next Week & Beyond
There will be some chance for stray showers next week, such as on Wednesday, but for the most part, dry weather will dominate. Temperatures will also become steady, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. While some day-to-day variation will likely crop up as we get closer, this general pattern is expected to remain in place into early June.
