Dry weather before and after the weekend is likely, but Saturday in particular will have some showers and storms to dodge. Any rain on Sunday should be brief and sporadic, and some areas will likely remain dry. Temperatures will remain warm and summery, though humidity levels, outside of Saturday, will be comfortably low.

Thursday

What: Sun and clouds

Sun will mix with thin clouds today. These high, thin clouds that will do little to provide any shade.  Most areas will get into the low 80s and typically warmer urbanized areas may reach the mid 80s. Winds will be from the west at only around 5 mph. Overnight lows will generally be in the upper half of the 50s with thin clouds continuing.

Friday

What: Sun and clouds

Friday will have a mix of sun and clouds, but still no rain. Afternoon highs in the mid and locally upper 80s. A few urban areas may even hit 90 degrees. Winds will be from the west and southwest at up to 10 mph. Clouds will increase further during the night with south-southwest winds up to 10 mph, keeping temperatures in the mid 60s.

Saturday

What: Scattered showers and storms

A few scattered showers will be possible Saturday morning, but many areas are looking dry. Rain chances will increase in the afternoon with scattered showers and some thunderstorms. A small threat for a few strong wind gusts from the storms may develop, but a larger severe weather event looks unlikely at this time. The Storm Prediction Center, responsible for severe thunderstorm forecasts across the nation, has us in their lowest tier of severe weather potential, which aligns well with my thoughts. The mid and late afternoon will be the most likely time for thunderstorms.

Temperatures will likely top out around 80 degrees. Humidity will come up, so it will feel a bit muggy. West winds will be blustery with a few gusts around 30 mph, separate from any thunderstorms. Most of the precipitation should quickly end after sunset with overnight lows in the low 60s.

Sunday

What: Scattered showers

Rain chances are decreasing for Sunday, with just some scattered showers expected from the mid morning into the early afternoon. Some areas will likely remain dry all day. Sunshine will increase later in the afternoon, but will also be possible earlier in the day. Temperatures will be a touch cooler with highs in the mid 70s with north winds. The humidity from Saturday will be gone.

Monday & Tuesday

What: Sunny

High pressure will be in firm control of the weather early next week. Both Monday and Tuesday are looking mostly sunny. Temperatures will start to rebound from the weekend, with upper 70s on Monday and low 80s on Tuesday. Both days will have warmer urbanized areas. Humidity levels will generally be comfortable.

Wednesday

What: A chance for showers, storms

The next chance for rain after the weekend looks like it will come toward the middle of next week. This may take the form of some showers and storms on Wednesday afternoon, but it is too early to be too specific. Over time, this threat for a little rain could shift, or even dissipate.

Later Next Week

Most of what is showing on the models as far as precipitation late next week or next weekend looks like noise at this point. Overall, the pattern looks like it will remain dry with only brief chances for some precipitation. Temperatures will be summer-like with most days between 75-85 degrees, but possibly some hotter or cooler days mixed in. We may start to see more humidity mixing in.
