Some sun will try to shine Tuesday and Wednesday, but probably with limited success overall. Temperatures will still climb regardless, peaking in the mid and upper 70s on Thursday. A few showers will be possible on Thursday with widespread, steadier rainfall expected Friday. The weekend looks dry with temperatures returning to the 60s, followed by another cold front early next week.

Tuesday
What: Clouds, some late sun
Rain is not expected on Tuesday, though a little morning drizzle is possible. Through the afternoon, clouds will gradually erode away from north to south. Some areas may only catch a glimpse of sun before it sets, while others will see several hours of sunshine. It is always a bit tricky to tell exactly how the transition from clouds to sun will go in a situation like this. Sometimes the clouds hang tough and linger later than expected, and other times they are quick to fade away. By the evening, clear skies should take over completely.
Nonetheless, temperatures will start to rise, reaching the mid upper 60s this afternoon. The amount of sunshine will likely have a difference of a couple degrees, but not more. Northwest winds of 5-10 mph are expected. Nighttime temperatures will remain in the mid 50s.
Wednesday
What: Clouds, some filtered sun
A deck of thin overcast is expected on Wednesday. Some limited sunshine will likely filter through, especially through the morning hours. Thicker clouds are more likely late in the day, when a stray spit of rain cannot be totally ruled out. Temperatures should continue to warm with highs in the low and mid 70s as a light south wind develops. Nighttime temperatures will be around 60 degrees.
Thursday
What: Scattered showers.
Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with highs pushing into the mid and upper 70s. A few urban areas may even have a shot at 80 degrees. Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds. Some scattered showers may pass through. Not everyone will see rain, and those that do should not see anything prolonged or heavy. South winds will be around 10 mph. Overnight temperatures will be in the mid 60s as a cold front approaches, but does not yet enter the area.
Friday

A cold front is expected to slowly pass through the region on Friday with an area of widespread rain. Several hours of steady rain look likely, especially during the morning hours. Temperatures may reach the low 70s during the morning and midday, but will slip back into the 60s Friday afternoon. Nighttime temperatures will reach the upper 40s as skies start to clear. Friday’s winds start from the southwest, but end from the northwest with speeds up to 10 mph.
Saturday
What: Sunny
At this time, Saturday looks bright and sunny behind Friday’s cold front. A few clouds will likely bubble up for the late morning and afternoon, but no rain is expected. Light north winds will blow. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 60s with nighttime temperatures in the mid 40s.
Sunday
What: Sun and clouds
Sunday also looks quiet with a mix of sun and clouds. There is a small chance for a period of thin overcast, but even then, a fair amount of sun should be able to filter through. Winds will be from the south at 10 mph with highs in the mid 60s.
Monday
What: Scattered showers
Another cold front is expected on Monday, bringing a quick-moving band of showers through the area. Much of the day will probably be dry. Temperatures will end up somewhere around the low 60s, depending on the timing of the front.
Next Week
Much of next week looks to be fairly quiet. Tuesday will be cool behind Monday’s cold front with highs possibly not reaching 60 degrees. Temperatures should come back into the lower 60s for much of the rest of the week. Rain chances may increase toward next weekend, but the models are not in very good agreement yet on that possibility.
