A very moist air mass is being transported into the Finger Lakes between high pressure of the New England coast and low pressure north of the Great Lakes.

Flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for parts of the northern and western Finger Lakes as a line of slow moving heavy thunderstorms drifts east.

With hot and humid air in place and a small disturbance swinging into the region, showers and thunderstorms are beginning to quickly develop.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms will likely develop this afternoon across the Finger Lakes, a few of which could become strong to severe.
