Monday Rain
An area of low pressure will track along a slow-moving front today.
Already, rain is widespread across the northwestern half of the Finger Lakes this morning. Additional rain over Pennsylvania will lift northeast into the southeastern Finger Lakes before noon.
The area of rain is also expected to expand this morning, keeping most of the Finger Lakes wet at least into the early afternoon.
Some heavier downpours and a rumble of thunder or two will also be possible.
The rain should taper to showers from west to east during the mid to late afternoon. A few scattered showers will continue to be possible through the overnight.
Many areas should see over a half-inch of rain. Some areas will see over an inch, and a couple isolated locations could see as much as an inch and a half.
Flash flooding is not expected, though a few areas could see some ponding or minor urban flooding.
Temperatures will be a far cry from the recent heat. Most of the day will be spent in the upper 60s to perhaps low 70s.

No Significant Heat This Week
As the front creeps to the southeast, our chances for rain will diminish and end overnight. Tuesday morning will be rather cloudy but should be dry.
Some afternoon sun may poke out which could lead to one or two pop-up showers. High temperatures should reach the mid 70s.
Wednesday will have a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures again in the mid 70s. A few scattered afternoon showers or weak thunderstorms will be possible. Not everyone will see rain.
Thursday will be a touch warmer with upper 70s and a few places reaching 80 degrees. The chance for an afternoon shower remains but will be much smaller than Wednesday’s chances.
This trend will continue into Friday as well with sun and clouds and highs within a couple degrees on either side of 80 degrees. Almost everyone should stay dry, but a stray shower cannot be totally ruled out.
By this weekend, 80s will become more widespread and a few areas could push 90 degrees on Sunday.
Morning lows throughout the week will range from the mid 50s in the south to the low 60s across the north.
