Weekend Weather Forecast
High pressure will vacate the area today, allowing a broad area of unsettled, yet unorganized weather to drift in this weekend.
Today will remain dry and partially sunny. There will be a notable increase in thin clouds filtering the sunshine at times.
Winds will also be out of the south and southeast today, bringing warmer air back into the region. Widespread highs in the mid 70s are likely with warmer pockets in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees.
The wind speed will be lighter than yesterday, coming in between 5-10 mph.
There will be little change this evening, but clouds will thicken overnight, and a few showers may try to push into the area during the predawn hours. Overnight lows will mainly be in the low and mid 50s.
Showers will be possible at any time on Saturday, but the presence of dry air may make it difficult for the rain to really establish itself. There is a chance that much of the area will see little, if any, rain. I would expect at least a few scattered showers, though.
Winds will increase to slightly above 10 mph, still from the south and southeast.
With the rain less widespread than previously thought, the temperature forecast has been nudged upward. Look for highs mainly in the mid 60s.
Low pressure will try to organize to our south Saturday night into Sunday, leading to the potential for a period of widespread rain. This is especially possible Sunday morning, but there remains a fair bit of uncertainty.
The rain, whether widespread or showery, should gradually taper off from west to east Sunday afternoon.
Winds on Sunday will be similar to Saturday, but temperatures will be cooler. Most areas west of Seneca Lake should make it into the low and mid 60s, but to the east, upper and even mid 50s are more likely for afternoon highs.
Weather Next Week
Scattered showers may linger into Sunday night and early Monday as winds shift to the northwest. Monday’s winds will be light, though, with speeds around 5 mph.
Sunshine should increase Monday afternoon, helping temperatures rebound to around 70 degrees.
Tuesday will be sunny and quiet. There will likely be some thin clouds around, especially late in the day, but with little impact on the sunshine.
Winds will remain light and northerly with highs ranging through the 70s.
Unsettled weather will move back in on Wednesday and Thursday with showers and thunderstorms. Wednesday currently looks like a better chance for thunderstorms than Thursday, but it is too early to count on anything for sure.
Highs on Wednesday should reach the mid 70s, while Thursday will be a couple degrees cooler.
Temperatures will begin to retreat by Friday and through next weekend with highs mainly in the 60s. It looks like an unsettled, wet period with daily chances for rain showers. The details, of course, are too far out to be clear.
Unsettled, cooler weather will likely continue into the following week as well. Daytime highs will mainly stick to the 60s with overnight lows mainly in the 40s.

Bit outside the FLX but how does Wellsboro, PA look tomorrow? Similar to the FLX? Dryer? Wetter? Have a cycling event down there tomorrow and trying to figure out how much rain gear I’ll need.
Meteorologist Drew Montreuil
The rain chances may be a little higher, but overall it is the same general idea as up here.
