Weekend Weather Forecast

A small weather system will move through the area on Saturday, leaving Friday and Sunday dry with sunshine.

There are still a few clouds lingering in the area early Friday morning, mainly over the eastern parts of the region. These should dissipate by mid-morning, leaving sun-filled skies throughout the region for the rest of the day.

Northwest winds are breezy this morning and will continue to occasionally gust over 30 mph into the early afternoon. Cool, dry air is moving in on these winds.

Despite highs only ranging through the 40s, dewpoints will be low enough to result in relative humidity values between 25-35 percent by this afternoon. With the winds, this will result in another day of elevated brush fire risk.

Skies will remain clear for the evening with winds becoming calm. Around and after midnight, both clouds and southerly winds will start to increase.

Overnight temperatures will bottom out this evening in the mid 30s, then rise to the upper 30s and low 40s by Saturday morning.

Rain showers will move into the area during the morning hours and continue into the afternoon. These will be scattered, on and off type showers.

Temperatures will top out in the upper 40s but will drop later in the afternoon as northwest winds increase and gust over 30 mph. Some wet snow may start to mix in or take over as the primary precipitation late in the afternoon with no accumulation expected.

There may be a few more spits of snow overnight as temperatures fall back into the upper 10s and low 20s.

Sunshine will increase Sunday morning. Clouds will start to build back in later Sunday, though. Highs will be around 40 degrees.

A period of snow is likely Sunday night, with some areas seeing a coating of accumulation. Temperatures will rise after midnight, and most of the snow should be rain before sunrise Monday morning.

Weather Next Week

Rain showers will continue on and off throughout Monday. Nonetheless, Monday will likely be the warmest upcoming day with highs near or above 50 degrees.

A few flurries will be possible Monday night and possibly into early Tuesday. No accumulation is expected.

Tuesday as a whole will just be cloudy, but spits of rain or snow may continue here or there. Temperatures will top out around the low 40s.

Another weak system may swing through the area on Wednesday or Wednesday night. A few snow showers will be possible, again without any accumulation expected. Confidence is low in the snow happening at all.

Wednesday will have highs in the low 40s after starting out in the 20s.

Next Thursday looks to have sun and clouds, but with an overall active weather pattern of small systems passing through every 36 to 48 hours, confidence is low that far out.

The models are starting to show signs of a potential warm up next weekend, likely accompanied by wind and rain. Any warm up should be brief, with temperatures likely sticking to the 40s the following week as well.
