Air Quality Alert
Northwesterly flow over the weekend has brought in a batch of wildfire smoke from central Canada.
With light winds expected today and tomorrow, the smoke will linger over the area, causing reduced air quality and hazy skies.
Air Quality will be in the orange and red zones, which are classified as unhealthy for sensitive groups and unhealthy for all, respectively. This will be the case today, tonight, and Tuesday.
Besides the characteristic haze, the skies for most of today will have a mix of sun and fair weather clouds, just like the last several days. An area of thin clouds may build in late.
Afternoon highs will top out in the lower half of the 80s. Dewpoints will generally remain comfortably low, mostly staying near or under 60 degrees.
Thin clouds will continue tonight, along with the smoke, with lows down around 60 degrees.
While the smoke will linger tomorrow, skies will be cloudier than today with thin clouds continuing to come and go. These clouds will merely filter some of the sunlight but will probably not block it altogether. With the smoke, though, the sunlight will be notably reduced at times.
Still, temperatures may be a couple degrees warmer as a southerly flow begins to develop. Highs will mainly be in the mid 80s with some low 80s in typically cooler locations.
Tuesday night will see lows in the low 60s. The smoke will probably begin to move out.

Warm, Dry Weather
Southerly winds will continue to push the smoke back into Canada on Wednesday. How quickly this happens is uncertain, but there should be a gradual improvement in air quality.
Skies will be mostly cloudy. A stray shower cannot be totally ruled out, but any rain that falls will be limited to highly isolated pockets and should only last a few minutes.
Temperatures Wednesday will be in the mid 80s for a high, and low 60s overnight.
Thursday will see an increase in sunshine, though some clouds will mix in as well. By then, the smoke should be removed from the area.
Temperatures Thursday will generally remain steady with highs in the mid 80s and overnight lows in the low 60s. Humidity will not change much with dewpoints near or slightly above 60 degrees.
Mostly sunny skies are expected on Friday with temperatures and humidity levels still remaining steady.
By the weekend, temperatures will start to inch up again with some. Saturday will see mid 80s for most areas still, but with some upper 80s showing up along and north of the Thruway.
Sunday will have more widespread upper 80s, with some of those same northern areas approaching 90 degrees. Humidity may increase slightly but should not be too uncomfortable for most.
Rain will eventually return to the forecast for the first part of next week, but which day is most favored for rainfall is uncertain at this time.
Temperatures will take a slight dip in the middle and latter part of next week behind the weather system from earlier in the week, but most areas should stay in the 80s.
