Weekend Weather Forecast
Temperatures will warm over the next two days before the next cold front pushes through the region on Sunday.
Areas of fog and some low clouds are lingering over parts of the Finger Lakes this morning, while other areas are starting clear and sunny.
The sunshine will eventually win out as the fog and low cloud burn off, though some fair weather clouds will mix in through the afternoon hours.
No rain will fall today. Winds will be light from the north at around 5 mph.
Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 70s and low 80s with low dewpoints in the 50s.
Skies will be mostly clear tonight with calm evening winds turning to the south overnight. Overnight lows will be in the mid and upper 50s to around 60 degrees.
Thin clouds will filter the sunshine on Saturday, though some breaks of unfiltered sun are also possible, especially early.
South winds will become better established, reaching speeds over 10 mph at times with gusts near 25 mph.
The southerly winds will push temperatures into the low and mid 80s.
There will be a small chance for a late afternoon shower, mainly west of Seneca Lake. Stray showers will spread east during the evening and overnight. Most areas will see little to no rain through Sunday morning.
A front will move into the area on Sunday and should trigger some additional showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. A couple of those storms could have some gusty winds, but widespread severe weather is unlikely.

Weather Next Week
The front will linger over the area early next week, resulting in a couple days of showery, cool weather.
Monday will see some of these scattered showers, especially during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will manage the low and mid 70s during the afternoon, helping trigger those showers.
Scattered showers will remain possible on Tuesday throughout the day. Blustery northwest winds with speeds of 10-15 mph will hold temperatures down. Most areas will not reach 70 degrees.
Northwest winds will remain in place, but will not be as strong on Wednesday. A few more showers will be possible in the morning before dry air begins to work in. Temperatures will be around 70 degrees, which means about half the region will end up in the 60s for a second day.
Thursday may be a dry day between systems, though the timing of the next weather maker is uncertain enough that it isn’t a guarantee. Assuming it stays dry, it should be a pleasant day with highs in the mid 70s.
Overnight lows next week will be chilly as well. Northern areas will generally be near or above 50 degrees, but southern areas may see multiple days down into the 40s. Tuesday and Wednesday in particular may see widespread 40s with some areas possibly at or below 45 degrees.
Rain chances during the Labor Day Weekend are uncertain. Temperatures may rise a bit as we head into September, but how much remains to be seen.
