A stray shower cannot be ruled out this weekend, but most areas will not see any rain. Temperatures and humidity levels will remain comfortable before increasing significantly next week. Heat index values toward the middle of next week could approach or exceed 100 degrees, turning the hot weather into hazardous heat.

Friday
What: Sun and clouds. A stray shower.
Most areas will stay dry today, but a stray shower will still be possible at almost any time. Anything that falls should be brief and highly isolated. Rain chances will drop off even further as evening approaches with no rain expected overnight. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 70s, with a few warmer pockets, and overnight lows will be in the upper 50s and low 60s.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds. A stray shower.
Once again, most areas will stay dry on Saturday, but there is a small chance for a few showers, mainly over the Southern Tier close to the Pennsylvania state line. As you head north of the southern tips of the Finger Lakes themselves, the chances for rain will decrease down to zero by the northern tips of the lakes. Winds will be light from the southeast and east with afternoon highs generally in the mid 70s. Overnight lows will again be in the upper 50s and low 60s.
Sunday
What: Sun and clouds. A shower?
Most models do not show any rain on Sunday, but a few from time to time have popped up a couple showers. So, it will be similar to Friday and Saturday with most areas staying dry, but not a complete guarantee that a stray shower won’t pop up. Temperatures will start to increase on Sunday with many areas around 80 degrees. Humidity levels should remain comfortable, though. Winds will be light from the north.
Monday
What: Sun and clouds.
Temperatures will continue to climb with highs well into the 80s on Monday. Humidity may start to nose upward as well, but should not be too high yet. No precipitation is expected. Winds will be nearly calm.
Tuesday
What: Getting hot
By Tuesday, it will be hot with a chance that highs pushing to near or above 90 degrees. Humidity will continue to come up as well, producing heat index values that are a degree or two warmer than the actual temperature. Winds will be gentle from the south and southwest.
Wednesday
What: Hazardous heat. A few showers?
Heat and humidity will be firmly in place on Wednesday with highs possibly pushing into the mid 90 degrees and dewpoints approaching 70 degrees. Heat index values in this situation would become hazardous, exceeding 100 degrees. However, there is also a chance for some showers and thunderstorms, which could put a cap on just how hot it gets.
Thursday
What:Â Hot and humid
While the confidence in precipitation is low, temperatures should again be near or above 90 degrees on Thursday. Humidity levels will be high, so heat index values may again approach or exceed 100 degrees.
4th of July Weekend
As we head into the holiday weekend, temperatures should back off a little. It will still be plenty warm with highs well into the 80s, and the humidity will remain uncomfortably high. In this environment, it only takes a small atmospheric disturbance to touch off some showers and storms, but it is far too soon to identify any such features. Precipitation, therefore, remains basically impossible to accurately project this far in advance.
