The weather will be very quiet this week, with every day but Thursday dry and sunny. A weak cold front on Thursday will bring some clouds and perhaps a few scattered showers. Temperatures will be mild today, but will slowly retreat the next couple of days. A bigger, but brief drop in temperature is possible behind Thursday’s front but remains uncertain. Temperatures will start to warm again by the weekend with more sunshine.

Admin Note: After the cold mornings this weekend, most of the area has seen their growing season end in practicality. Officially, many areas were already considered out of the growing season, which is why the NWS did not issue frost of freeze alerts over the weekend except along the Lake Ontario shore. I will now be following suit and will no longer be discussing frost and freeze issues. As always, if you have questions specific to your situation, justAsk Drew!
Monday
What: Sunny
High pressure will be overhead today, bringing start-to-finish sunshine and light, variable winds. It will be the warmest afternoon of the week with highs in the low and especially mid 60s. Clear skies will continue most of the night, though a few stray clouds may pop up as dawn approaches. A light north wind will develop. Overnight lows will be in the low and mid 40s.
Tuesday
What: Sunny
High pressure will redevelop to our northwest on Tuesday, strengthening the northerly flow with wind speeds around 10 mph. Slightly cooler air will start to seep into the region with highs ranging from the upper 50s in the hills to the low 60s in the valleys. A few early clouds will be possible, and some thin clouds may also drift through. All in all, though, it will be another bright, sunny day followed by a clear night. Overnight lows will range from the mid 30s to around 40 degrees.

Wednesday
What: Sunny
High pressure will move back overhead on Wednesday, bringing similar conditions to today: full sunshine and light, variable winds. Most areas will see highs in the upper 50s, but a few of the valleys may reach 60 degrees. Most of the night will be clear, but a few clouds may start to drift in by dawn. Overnight lows will generally remain between 35-40 degrees again.
Thursday
What: Clouds, a few showers
Thursday will be the most active weather day of the week, but that is not saying much. There will actually be some clouds in the sky and perhaps a few stray showers as a moisture-starved, weak cold front slides through the area during the morning. Northwest winds will set up behind the front and may go over 10 mph for the afternoon. Temperatures are a little uncertain but should be in the upper half of the 50s, at least for a while, though they could drop in the afternoon. Skies should become partly cloudy or clear overnight with lows in the mid and upper 30s.
Friday
What:Â Sun and clouds
Friday will be dry with sunshine and a few clouds mixing in. There is some question about the temperature, depending on how substantial Thursday’s front is. The current forecast is a middle of the road approach around 50 degrees, but it could be as cool as the mid 40s or as warm as the mid 50s. Friday night is a bit higher confidence with lows in the mid and upper 30s once again.
Saturday
What: Sunny
A new high pressure will be in firm control by Saturday, leaving skies sunny and winds nearly calm. Temperatures should inch upward with highs in the mid 50s. As the high pressure center slides east, a south wind may develop Saturday night, keeping lows closer to 40 degrees.
Sunday
What:Â Sunny
Sunshine will dominate Sunday as well. South winds will help nudge temperatures back into the low 60s.
Next Week
Next week looks similar to this week with generally dry, sunny weather. Temperatures will start mild, but a mid week cold front may cool things down for the latter half of the week. Rain chances with this front look low at this time, similar to this Thursday’s front.
