High pressure will remain in control of the weather, bringing sunny days. Light north winds will lead to a gradual reduction in temperature. A cold front Thursday will bring a couple showers and set up a cool Friday. Over the weekend, temperatures will start to increase again with more sunshine.

Admin Note: After the cold mornings this weekend, most of the area has seen their growing season end in practicality. Officially, many areas were already considered out of the growing season, which is why the NWS did not issue frost of freeze alerts over the weekend except along the Lake Ontario shore. I will now be following suit and will no longer be discussing frost and freeze issues. As always, if you have questions specific to your situation, just Ask Drew!

Tuesday

What: Sunny

High pressure has redeveloped to our northwest, which will lead to a strengthening northerly flow with wind speeds around 10 mph. Slightly cooler air will start to seep into the region with highs ranging from the mid 50s in the hills to the upper 50s to near 60 degrees in the valleys. A few thin clouds may drift through. All in all, though, it will be another bright, sunny day followed by a clear night. Overnight lows will range from the mid 30s to around 40 degrees.

Wednesday

What: Sunny

There will be little difference between today’s weather and tomorrow’s. Skies will be sunny and light north winds will blow, though speeds will be slightly lower. Temperatures will mainly be in the mid 50s with both warmer and cooler pockets, as usual. Overnight lows will average out in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.

Thursday

What: Clouds, a few showers

Thursday will be the most active weather day of the week, but that is not saying much. There will actually be some clouds in the sky and perhaps a few stray showers as a moisture-starved, weak cold front slides through the area during the morning. Most areas will not see rain, though.

Northwest winds will set up behind the front and may go over 10 mph for the afternoon. Temperatures will peak during the midday hours in the mid 50s, then dip a couple degrees in the afternoon. Skies should become partly cloudy or clear overnight with lows in the mid and upper 30s.

Friday

What: Sun and clouds

Friday will be dry with sunshine and a few clouds mixing in. North winds will blow at up to 10 mph, keeping temperatures down. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 40s and low 50s, though some higher elevations may end up closer to 45 degrees.

Friday night will be clear and cool with lows ranging throughout the 30s.

Saturday

What: Sunny

A new high pressure will be in firm control by Saturday, leaving skies sunny and winds nearly calm. Temperatures should inch upward with highs in the mid 50s. As the high pressure center slides east, a south wind may develop Saturday night, keeping lows closer to 40 degrees.

Sunday

What: Sunny

Sunshine will dominate Sunday as well. South winds will help nudge temperatures back into the low 60s and will hold nighttime temperatures in the mid 40s.

Monday

What: Sun and clouds

Another small weather system will approach the area on Monday, leading to some clouds mixing with the sunshine. A late shower cannot be totally ruled out, but most models favor that coming Monday night into Tuesday. South winds will push temperatures into the mid 60s, followed by mid 40s at night.

Later Next Week

Any rain from the early week weather system will be light and spotty. Temperatures will take a small dip behind this system with highs returning the 50s. There may be another run at 60 degrees late in the week out ahead of another weak system. The weather potentially looks more unsettled as we head toward next weekend or the following week.
