finger lakes weather forecast saturday april 1 2023 severe thunderstorm watch
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph will be possible as a line of rain and some thunder moves through the Finger Lakes this afternoon.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch (Yellow Shading) and numerous Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (Yellow Boxes) are in effect for the Finger Lakes region.

A band of rain with some embedded thunder and strong, potentially damaging winds will move across the FLX during the next few hours.

There may be little thunder to alert you of this band, and the strongest winds may race out ahead of the precipitation. Scattered wind damage from gusts as high as 65 mph is expected.

Temperatures will quickly fall into the 40s as the rain moves into the area.

As a reminder, a WATCH means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms and is issued over a broad area for a prolonged length of time. A WARNING is for when severe weather is detected and is issued over smaller areas for shorter times. When a warning is issued, it is time to act to remain safe.
