Cold Front

Another very warm day today will end with some change as a cold front moves through the area.

Ahead of the front, there will be plenty of sunshine this morning. Clouds will gradually increase during the afternoon and a few showers may make it into the region before sunset.

Southwest winds will increase with speeds slightly over 10 mph and a few gusts over 25 mph.

The increase in clouds will keep temperatures just shy of where they were yesterday. Most places will still end up near or above 75 degrees, though.

The chance for showers increases this evening, though the front is not very impressive for its rain making capabilities.

It seems likely that a number of places will be missed by the showers altogether. Most areas that do see rain will be hard pressed to pick up more than a tenth of an inch.

Nonetheless, the front will move through, turning winds to the northwest during the evening. Temperatures will drop to the mid 40s overnight with clouds and spits of rain.

Clouds and stray showers will continue into Thursday morning. The meager rainfall should dry up by midday and clouds will gradually break up during the afternoon.

Northwest winds will blow with similar speeds to today, knocking temperatures down by about 25 degrees. Most places will not reach 55 degrees tomorrow.

Low and mid 30s will make for a frosty start to Friday as skies clear and wind speeds drop Thursday night.

Friday itself will follow a similar pattern to today with morning sun, afternoon clouds, and a few late showers from a cold front. The rain Friday evening looks even less impressive than tonight’s rain.

Cool Weekend, Warmer Next Week

Saturday will be cloudy with a few stray showers here and there. Northern areas will probably have a greater chance of seeing rain than southern areas, thanks to Lake Ontario.

Temperatures will start Saturday in the mid 40s with afternoon highs reaching the mid 50s.

Saturday night will see clouds break up at least partially, allowing nighttime temperatures to reach the mid 30s.

Sunday is looking dry with varying amounts of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 40s and low 50s.

Sunday night may be the coldest night we have seen so far this season. Typically warmer areas may slip into the low 30s, while the normally cooler southern areas have a shot at seeing upper 20s.

Despite the cold start, temperatures will start to moderate on Monday with highs reaching the mid 50s. Skies will once again be variable, but no precipitation is expected.

Sun and clouds will be joined by southerly winds on Tuesday with highs breaking into the 60s. Wednesday, meanwhile, will have a shot at 70 degrees.

Even Thursday, which is Halloween, has a shot at staying well into the 60s. However, it is too early to tell if it will be dry as a cold front will eventually move through sometime late next week.
