Another cold front will pass through during the early morning hours with flurries and squalls. Temperatures will fall through the day with gusty winds, causing wind chills to fall below zero and into hazardous territory. Areas of lake effect snow will develop tonight.

Early Morning (3-7 AM)

Mostly cloudy.

Flurries and squalls. Brief periods of wintry travel.

Winds west around 10 mph.

Temperatures dropping to the mid and upper 10s.

Morning (7-11 AM)

A mix of sun and clouds.

A few scattered snow showers.

Winds west increasing to 15-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

Temperatures dropping to the low and mid 10s. Wind chills of -5 to +5.

Midday (11 AM-1 PM)

A mix of sun and clouds.

A few scattered snow showers.

Winds west steady at 15-20 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

Temperatures steady or slightly decreasing in the low and mid 10s. Wind chills of -5 to +5.

Afternoon (1-4 PM)

A mix of sun and clouds.

A few scattered snow showers.

Winds west steady at 15-20 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

Temperatures dropping to the upper 0s and low 10s. Wind chills of 0 to -10.

Late Afternoon (4-6 PM)

A mix of sun and clouds.

Lake effect snow moves southward onshore from Lake Ontario.

Winds west around 15 mph, turning to the northwest late north of the Thruway. Wind chills of -10 to -20.

Temperatures dropping to the mid and upper 0s with some colder pockets.

Evening (6-10 PM)

Partly to mostly cloudy.

Flurries and squally snow bands, mainly north of a line from Rochester to Ithaca to Binghamton, but especially focusing in on Wayne, Cayuga, Cortland, and southern Onondaga counties. Locally several inches of accumulation in combination with the overnight period.

Winds west-northwest and northwest at 10-15 mph.

Temperatures dropping to the low and mid 0s with both some warmer and colder pockets. Wind chills of -10 to -20.

Overnight (11 PM-3 AM)

Partly to mostly cloudy.

Flurries and squally snow bands, mainly north of a line from Rochester to Ithaca to Binghamton, but especially focusing in on Wayne, Cayuga, Cortland, and southern Onondaga counties. Locally several inches of accumulation in combination with the evening period.

Winds northwest around 10 mph.

Temperatures dropping to between -5 and +5. Wind chills of -10 to -20.
