A week of harsh winter weather will begin to settle into the Finger Lakes on Wednesday as lake snows develop, followed by arctic cold.
Low pressure will meander across the Great Lakes over the next few days, leaving a return to winter in its wake.
Southerly winds on the back side of high pressure over Virginia will help temperatures return to near 40 degrees on Saturday.
The Finger Lakes will remain mostly dry on Friday, even as a nor’easter brings snow to areas just to the east and lake snows fall across western NY.
