Lake effect develops after storm just misses: snow maps

After being missed by a significant winter storm on Thursday, the Finger Lakes will have areas of lake effect snow to contend with on Friday.
Lake effect snow will only bring minimal accumulation to the Finger Lakes, but gusty winds will blow through the weekend.
Evening Update (8:30pm) Precipitation is overspreading the Finger Lakes from the southeast this evening. Temperatures are falling into the low 30s as the precipitation intensifies, but remain in the mid and even upper 30s out ahead of the precipitation.
A storm system will spread some light snow through the Finger Lakes Thursday before exploding into a nor’easter for New England.
Several inches of snow will fall across the Finger Lakes Friday night into Saturday morning.
