Temperatures have been running about 15 degrees above normal for the Finger Lakes over the last few days. Friday and Saturday will offer no change from that, with highs well into the 80s both days.
Cooler, more seasonable temperatures are on our doorstep as a cold front makes slow but steady progress eastward.
The hottest, most intense part of the summer waited for early September, but will soon ease up on the Finger Lakes.
The good news is that the high heat and humidity is about to end. However, this airmass will not move out without causing a host of other troubles as it departs.
