Winter storm ongoing across Finger Lakes Tuesday
Mixed precipitation will turn to rain this morning for most of the Finger Lakes before ending as snow this afternoon.
Winter storm phase 1: Monday evening through early Tuesday afternoon
A complex winter storm will bring a wide range of impacts to the Finger Lakes. For ease in communicating the threats and storm conditions, I’ve broken the storm into 2 phases.
Cold front Wednesday leads to lake snow, bitter cold
A widespread couple of inches will fall Wednesday along a cold front, followed by areas of lake effect through Thursday.
Lake effect flurries and squalls Thursday through Monday
A prolonged period of on and off lake effect snow is expected, starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend.
Light Sunday snow moves through Finger Lakes on first day of March
Areas of very light snow have moved into the Finger Lakes this morning well ahead of a system is interacting with a strong jet stream to produce a large area of light precipitation.
